Barcelona has an impressive architectural and monumental heritage. The work of the famous architect Antoni Gaudi is to be found all over the streets of Barcelona, and today you’ll visit two of the best examples of his genius as well as other very interesting and important areas of the city. Barcelona is ‘the city’ for anyone who is looking for culture, art, shopping, and much more. Your tour departs from the port, heading to the famous and unfinished, Sagrada Familia church. We’ve made special reservations for you to visit the interior without having to wait standing in a very long line. On the way, drive by the glamorous Passeig de Gracia where your guide will point out two of Gaudi’s masterpieces: Casa Batllo and Casa Mila. Then, you’ll reach the famous Sagrada Familia, an icon of Barcelona. Visitors from all over the world come to admire this extraordinary monument. After visiting the interior of this amazing church, your scenic drive takes you to Park Guell, another unfinished work of Gaudi’s. This unique place, with its wide pathways and long snake-like benches made with colorful mosaics, is a perfect example of the modernist style. Continue to the Gothic Quarter where you’ll see the exterior of the 13th century cathedral and enjoy a walk around the area where the remains of the Roman City survive alongside with medieval buildings. Enjoy some free time for shopping or lunch at your leisure (not included) before returning to your coach and being dropped off at a Norwegian program hotel, Catalunya Square, the airport, or back to your ship. Note: This tour is available for guests with flights after 6:30pm, or that are staying at a Norwegian program hotel in Barcelona. Should the Sagrada Familia be closed due to special religious ceremonies, you’ll visit Casa Mila (Le Pedrera), another of Gaudi’s masterpieces.
